Our focus: Systems biophysics for precision oncology

We map how clinically occuring variants alter drug resistance, sensitivity, and selectivity. By understanding how mutations alter dynamics and drug binding, we exploit this knowledge to better predict drug resistance before it arises, and inform the design of future therapeutics!

Our lab focuses on understanding mutations and drug response in cancer to establish a systems biophysics view of cancer signaling and drug efficacy. By mapping how drug-binding or mutations alter protein function in the context of signaling networks, we characterize driver variants and signaling rewiring across binding interaces. We hope to identify new variants that may be clinically relevant for targeting with modern therapeutic design tools, or newly sensitive targets to existing therapeutic options!

Who we are

We are an interdisciplinary team combining biophysics, statistics, information theory, and molecular biology. Our lab combines computational modeling (spanning biophysics to AI/ML approaches) and experimental biochemistry to study protein dynamics, drug binding, and protein-protein interactions.

We develop new computational models, leverage massively distributed computing architectures, and iterate in design cycles with biochemical and cell-level experiments to validate our predictions. We even take advantage of modern-day automation tools generate our datasets!
