We are always looking for folks to join our multidisciplinary team!

Singh LabSingh Lab

I am currently open to applicants at all levels (students, technicians, postdoctoral researchers, software scientists).

How to apply:

All interested applicants should email me with the string “Applicant:” in the subject header at Sukrit.Singh[at]fccc.edu. If you do not include “Applicant:” in the subject line, it may not be caught by my email filters!

Include your CV and a half-page description of a project/question you might want to pursue with us! The proposal is meant to give us a sense of your interests and how you approach problems, and is not a binding committment to a project.

What we are looking for:

I have four guiding rules for all lab members, myself included:

  1. Be ambitious (Have a vision!)
  2. Be rigorous (Be principled and test your assumptions!)
  3. Be scrappy (Own your project!)
  4. Be kind (Support and celebrate each other!)

Science flourishes when individuals are encouraged to take initiative and ownership of their ideas. All of our projects thrive from open exchange of ideas, and we are lucky to collaborate with folks who also share our vision of Open Science.

Our lab is always striving to be inclusive, supportive, and fun. Everyone deserves to feel like they’re part of something meaningful. Aim high, encourage independence, celebrate victories, get creative, and make space for laughter and camaraderie. Science is hard enough - we strive to support each other & not take ourselves too seriously. Professional growth is a big part of our journey together, and I am here to support you as best I can (see below)

My mentorship philosophy - “Positive-reinforcement driven”

As a young lab, we are navigating the twists and turns of research projects and our careers together. I meet regularly with everyone (at minimum once-every-two-weeks, if not weekly) to help guide your journey, whether that means figuring out career paths, practicing your skills, or simply figuring out what to do next. I love brainstorming and try to maintain an open-door policy as often as I can (when I’m around!).

Part of my role is to help you become your most authentic scientific self. If your interests shift, or you decide to take a different direction, we can celebrate your new direction! Sometimes the best discoveries happen when you take unexpected turns. And if you ever feel like you don’t belong – know that you absolutely do.
